Dedication Ceremonies for Roberto Salmón and Raúl Grijalva to be Held at WRRC Conference

On Tuesday, May 20 — Day 1 of the WRRC 2025 Annual Conference — ceremonies will honor the legacies of two individuals who contributed so much to water management along shared borders. Roberto Salmón Castelo (1953-2025), who served as Commissioner of the Mexican Section of the International Boundary and Water Commission from April 2009 to May 2020, led many collaborative efforts to address infrastructure and environmental concerns, working to bring water sharing agreements to successful conclusions. A ceremony honoring his legacy will follow the 1:00 pm conference opening. Later that afternoon, another ceremony will honor the leadership and accomplishments of Raúl Grijalva (1948-2025). Throughout his 22 years representing Southern Arizona in the US House of Representatives, Grijalva was an unwavering champion for environmental justice, water, and the community programs important to so many. Conference attendees can look forward to joining the WRRC, along with members of the honorees’ families, as we honor two men whose careers epitomized the conference theme of sharing water across borders.
Registration for our conference will remain open through the event; however, standard registration (and pre-paid parking) closes on May 9 at 11:59 pm, so reserve your ticket today!
