Longtime Collaborator Joins WRRC Staff

The WRRC is pleased to announce that Elia Tapia, a longtime collaborator and friend to the WRRC, recently joined our staff as the new Associate in Extension, TAAP & Water RAPIDS. She holds a PhD in Arid Lands Resource Sciences with a Minor in Hydrology from the University of Arizona, and will be working primarily with the Transboundary Aquifer Assessment Program (TAAP) and the Water RAPIDS program.
Elia is passionate about connecting science with stakeholders to support shared understanding and informed decision-making. She brings experience in hydrology, hydrogeology, and climate change studies, along with years of binational and international collaboration, and has worked on projects across the US, Mexico, and Latin America to address groundwater availability, climate and drought resilience, and disaster risk.
Welcome to the WRRC, Elia!
