TREND Report Focuses on Water and Infrastructure
The November 2025 infrastructure issue of TREND Report focuses on water issues, with one section dedicated to “Water: Scarcity, Stability, Shaping Policy.” The report’s “Infrastructure Trends” issues typically cover topics of transportation, power/energy, recent airport development, residential infrastructure, and binational trade. This year’s issue, however, featured Tucson Water’s capital improvement program, water conservation in the desert, farm water conservation, and Central Arizona Project’s strategic planning strategies. The report also includes a reprint of one of WRRC Director Sharon B. Megdal’s Reflections articles, titled “Dry Times, Bold Moves—Innovations for Arizona’s Water Future.” In her piece, previously published in the September 19, 2025, issue of the Weekly Wave, Megdal states, “These dry times require bold moves. Innovation—the implementation of new ideas and methods—is surely needed to secure Arizona’s water future.”
TREND Report’s readership includes real estate, development, business, and civic leaders across Southern Arizona. In her Editor’s Insights, Managing Editor Karen M. Schutte drew attention to TREND Report’s exclusive interview with Tony Burkhart, Senior Vice President of Policy & Public Affairs at Beale Infrastructure, whose company develops digital infrastructure for the world’s leading technology companies and helps to enable innovative long-term data center solutions. The interview touches on several issues surrounding the needed resources and impacts of data center construction—a topic of discussion at the upcoming April 14–15, 2026, WRRC Annual Conference: Commercial & Industrial Water Stewardship.
