Upcoming Water Webinars Aim to Enlighten and Inform

This fall semester, the WRRC is hosting a series of webinars that offer water enthusiasts the opportunity to connect virtually with water experts, to ask questions, and to learn about various topics. We hope you were able to tune into the first 2 webinars that kicked off our Fall 2025 series. If not, you can still access those recordings via our website.
On Monday, October 6, our featured webinar speaker is Kyle Onda, Director of Internet of Water at the Center for Geospacial Solutions. During his presentation, Laying Internet of Water Bricks: The Backend, Frontend, and Everything in Between, Onda will introduce Geoconnex—an open-source reference system that connects water data to the places it describes—and he will explain how Geoconnex creates a durable and interoperable environment for water data. Later this month, on Wednesday, October 22, you won’t want to miss Arizona Water Company: Suitable Water Resources Strategy, the next webinar we have lined up. Two representatives of Arizona Water Company—President Fred Schneider and Terri Sue C. Rossi, Vice President of Water Resources—will chronicle the collaboration between their company and the State of Arizona and other stakeholders in the development of a new determination of assured water supply for the Pinal Valley water system, which has not been updated since July 2011 despite there being over 8 million acre-feet of unmet demand in the Pinal AMA. REGISTER HERE.
Please also mark your calendars for the two webinars we have scheduled in November. On Wednesday, November 12, human rights consultant Aminta Menjivar, who is a recipient of the 104(b) small research grant, will be presenting her research on Tribal water settlements in Arizona. Then, on Tuesday, November 18, One-Water Hydrologic President/Hydrologist Randall Hansen will give a presentation that explores Conjunctive Water Management, the process of using water from multiple sources for consumptive purposes within a sustainability framework.
Visit WRRC's website for detailed info on upcoming events, including co-sponsored events, and remember to save the date for our 2026 Annual Conference, which is set for April 14–15.
