WRRC Releases AZ Domestic Well Owner’s Toolkit
The WRRC is pleased to announce the release of the Arizona Domestic Well Owner’s Toolkit. The toolkit is now available as a PDF on the WRRC website, with printed copies to be available soon.
Developed for the estimated 330,000 Arizona residents who rely on domestic wells for their water supply, the toolkit serves as a practical resource for well owners who are responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and protecting their wells and water quality. As groundwater quality concerns grow and groundwater conditions continue to change across Arizona, access to reliable information is becoming increasingly important for domestic well owners. The toolkit provides accessible information on a range of topics, including well construction and maintenance, geology, groundwater quality, water testing, water treatment options, permitting, and strategies for ensuring safe and reliable water supplies into the future, along with practical guidance and links to additional resources.
The toolkit builds upon the 2017 Arizona Well Owner’s Guide to Water Supply, with updated technical information, expanded resources, and new content designed specifically for today's domestic well owners. Its development also benefited from reviews by experts from the U of A, AZ Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ), AZ Department of Water Resources (ADWR), and US Geological Survey (USGS).
